Inspirational Talk with André Wyss, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SBB
Since the end of April 2026, André Wyss has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of SBB. With some distance from his first few months in this new role, we would like to talk to him about things you won't find in any onboarding manual: personal insights, surprising experiences, and the reality of leadership in a complex environment.
What has particularly occupied him in these first few months? Which challenges have proven greater than expected? Which leadership principles help him provide guidance and make decisions? And what can leaders from other industries learn from this?

André Wyss will offer personal insights into his first months at the helm of SBB and share his perspectives on the future of mobility in Switzerland.

André Wyss has more than 30 years of leadership experience in the construction and real estate sectors as well as in the pharmaceutical industry. From 2018 to 2025, he was CEO of Implenia and implemented a comprehensive transformation of the company. Prior to that, he worked at Novartis from 1984 to 2018, where he rose through the ranks from chemical technician apprentice to a member of the Group Executive Board. As President of Novartis Operations on the Novartis Executive Committee, he was responsible for global production and central shared services. André Wyss holds a degree in economics from the Zurich University of Applied Sciences and has completed several executive programs at Harvard Business School.
Since May 2021, Markus Streckeisen has been working as an independent entrepreneur and an external, independent board member at various companies operating in the mobility, logistics, real estate, retail, and hospitality sectors.
Markus Streckeisen is married and lives with his wife and three children in the Zurich Unterland region.
