Inspirational Talk with André Wyss, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SBB
Since the end of April 2026, André Wyss has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of SBB. With some distance from his first few months in this new role, we would like to talk to him about things you won't find in any onboarding manual: personal insights, surprising experiences, and the reality of leadership in a complex environment.
What has particularly occupied him in these first few months? Which challenges have proven greater than expected? Which leadership principles help him provide guidance and make decisions? And what can leaders from other industries learn from this?
Look forward to an inspiring exchange about leadership, change, and the art of taking responsibility in an organization that connects millions of people every day. André Wyss will offer personal insights into his first months at the helm of SBB and share his perspectives on the future of mobility in Switzerland.

Daneben gehört er dem Gesellschafterrat der E. Merck KG an, engagiert sich als
Stiftungsratspräsident der Jakob und Emma Windler Stiftung und ist im Beirat der
Executive School der Universität St. Gallen (ES-HSG). Weitere Mandate hat er als
Präsident der Statistisch-Volkswirtschaftlichen Gesellschaft Basel und der Freunde der
Baloise Session.
André Wyss verfügt über mehr als 30 Jahre Führungserfahrung in der Bau- und
Immobilienbranche sowie in der Pharmaindustrie. Von 2018 bis 2025 war er CEO von
Implenia und setzte eine umfassende Transformation des Unternehmens um. Zuvor
arbeitete er von 1984 bis 2018 bei Novartis, wo er vom Chemikanten-Lehrling bis in die
Konzernleitung aufstieg. Im Novartis Executive Committee verantwortete er als
Präsident Novartis Operations die weltweite Produktion und zentrale Shared Services.
André Wyss hat einen Abschluss in Wirtschaftswissenschaften der Hochschule für
Wirtschaft Zürich und absolvierte mehrere Executive-Programme an der Harvard
Business School.
Seit Mai 2021 arbeitet Markus Streckeisen als selbständiger Unternehmer und externer, unabhängiger Verwaltungsrat in verschiedenen Gesellschaften, die in den Branchen Mobilität, Logistik, Immobilien, Retail und Gastronomie tätig sind.
Markus Streckeisen ist verheiratet und wohnt mit seiner Frau und 3 Kindern im Zürcher Unterland.
